Paper plates are not just for your fancy masterpieces meals or backyard barbecue. Although, both are quite delightful. Try using them for something new, something kid approved.
What about some fun paper plate crafts?
I’m in. How about you?
I thought you’d say yes so I roundup a few ideas. Let’s take a look.
1. Miss Spider Paper Plate Craft
Here’s one spider you don’t have to be afraid of… Miss Spider. Not only did The Pinterested Parent share directions on how to make this adorable paper plate craft, but she provided the inspiration behind it.
A book! Fabulous.
“A book is a gift you can open again and again”. — Garrison Keillor
Sidenote: Have you and the little one read the book “Pete the Cat and His Four Groovy Buttons“? It’s a really cool book and the song is so hypnotic. I couldn’t stop singing “my buttons, my buttons, my four groovy buttons”.
2. Sesame Street Paper Plates Craft
It sure can be when watching an episode of Sesame Street and then making these paper plate crafts found on theresourcefulmama. In fact, here’s a list of episodes to consider watching.
Sesame Street Episodes:
- “Move It”
- “The Good Sport”
- “Elmo’s Amazing Alphabet Race”
- “Grover’s Street Safari”
- “Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star”
- “Painting with Cookie Monster”
- “Elmo’s Sweet Ride”
- “Grover Does It All”
After watching one of these episodes, you can discuss what was learned from the episode while making the crafts.
Sounds like a win-win situation to me: Elmo, Oscar the Grouch, the Cookie Monster, your little one and you!
3. Toucan Paper Plate Craft
Now you cannot tell me this toucan craft isn’t beautiful. Well you can. LOL!
But, the site PinkStripeySocks nailed it! The gorgeous blue, yellow, red, green … well all the colors make for a perfect looking toucan.
The wonderful part is a step by step tutorial is available.
4. Fish Paper Plates Craft
Have you ever walked by a fish tank and had to stop and look at the fishes swim around?
It’s fun, right?
I can tell you that my son loves to do this. There’s this doctor’s office that we have gone to that has one. My son heads directly for the room with the the fish tank.
Trust, it’s a great way to keep the little kiddos calm.
This is why I think the tropical fish paper plate crafts found on Crafts By Amanda is super duper cool. It captures the beauty of the fishes with their array of colors.
Psst… you can work on learning and identify colors with this project.
